I've been into street photography for about a year now! Not long but I've found that the photographer pays attention to scenes, moments that you only recognize subconsciously. The photographer happens to be there and captures the mood in a fraction of a second, also he/she freezes a moment that you will forget in the same amount of time. It's incredible stuff.
Take a look at "The Photographic Dictionary", This isn't STREET photography but it is a high level of photography.
"Kesh" takes some cool pictures.
